CHRISTMAS is a season for joy and merriment. It is a time for giving as well as for forgiving. For a multiracial multi-religious society like ours, Christmas has even greater significance as it is also a time for reflection on the things that matter to all those who cherish peace and harmony.
I would like to seize this moment to call on all Malaysians to join in the festivities by visiting our Christian friends and acquaintances and wishing them 'Merry Christmas'. Let us not be distracted by the voices of intolerance, bigotry and negativity and let the spirit of goodwill, harmony and unity prevail.
On this auspicious occasion, I wish all Malaysians of the Christian faith a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May this Christmas bring you and your family great joy and happiness.
